Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park lies at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley, where the sweeping Bunyoro escarpment tumbles into a vast, palm-dotted savanna. It was first gazetted as a game reserve in 1926 and it’s Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area covering about 3,840 square kilometres.
This Park provides guests with a remarkable game safari experience where they can see mammals, and reptiles in the Victoria Nile and a variety of primate species.
There are high chances of sighting the shoebill along the river stretch approaching the Albert delta and many prolific bird species occupy the park like the white-crested turaco, and red-winged grey warbler all associated with woodland in the southern bank.
Guests can embark on activities like game drives in search of the big five, bird watching, hot air balloon tours, Rhino tracking, sport fishing, boat cruise, chimpanzee trekking, hiking to the top of the falls, chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest and nature walks to explore and appreciate what this National Park has to offer.
